A woman in Langdon, Alta., narrowly escaped an attempted abduction, say RCMP.
It happened on Wednesday afternoon when a young woman was approached by a stranger. No details are available about where it happened, only that it was in the area of the hamlet, east of Calgary.
“(He) was insistent in his efforts to ‘pick her up’ despite being rebuked several times by the woman,” Strathmore RCMP said in a news release.
“The male physically grabbed the woman to force her to take a photo with him and made repeated references to wanting her to come with him. When the woman attempted to depart, the male allegedly grabbed her by the neck and started dragging her towards his vehicle.”
RCMP say a witness intervened and the man left.
The man, who drove a red, four-door sedan, is described as having darker skin and stood about six foot tall. He wore a white T-shirt with an emblem and blue jeans. RCMP are asking anyone with any information to contact them at 403-934-3968.
