Why Do We Care So Much About Mars? Johns Hopkins Scientist Explains
“Mars is a dynamic place. It’s almost like visiting Egypt’s pyramids. We know amazing things happened here once. But where did all the water go, and why is it now a dead planet? It’s the only other planet in our solar system that had liquid water on its surface, yet something went wrong along the way that made the planet diverge pretty strongly from the Earth.”

If We Found Life on Mars, How Would We Know?
“Finding evidence for life on Mars has been a decades-long ambition for NASA, which has spent billions of dollars to send machines wheeling over, poking and probing the Red Planet. But once the signs of life are found, how are those findings verified?”

Seven Ways Mars InSight is Different
“NASA has a long and successful track record at Mars. Since 1965, it has flown by, orbited, landed and roved across the surface of the Red Planet. What can InSight — planned for launch in May — do that hasn’t been done before?”

  1. So all this while the core of mars is still unknown. The images seen is just fake or assumption. But they make people believe as if it's real.

  2. so I wonder what island in canada they will "land" on and try to pass it off as mars. Earth is flat and covered by a dome no one goes into "space". wake up sheeple..

  3. What is the use in digging to know about the formation of a Planet? That too by spending 80 million dollars . If scientists know my theory about the formation of the Universe, they will know how to do and what to do , with out spending even a single dollar.

  4. It's not really "digging" … or did I misunderstand?
I was picturing some big ass drill thing at first, misleading title, no?
Maybe "learn about," or "study" would be more reasonable?

  5. shits all a lie, weve never been to the moon and there is no outer space. the earth is flat and just about every other single conspiracy theory is 100% true

  6. Trust me. Looking at Mars in the night sky is one thing but wanting to go there, find out all about it etc is definitely not a sign of intelligent life.

  7. NASA, Launch next mission to the moon, To dig deep Inside lunar Core, also, I'm interested in seeing landing module leg pods, lunar rover vehicle and one of our American Flags that were left behind.  Good Luck!
