Early morning fire at mobile home park spreads to multiple units

Calgary fire crews responded to reports of a fire at a mobile home park in Forest Lawn at approximately 2 A.M. Saturday morning, according to a release.

Upon their arrival at the Oasis Mobile Home Park, they found two mobile homes fully enveloped by flames and another two that had also caught fire.

Significant smoke and flames were billowing up as firefighters used hoses to control the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Residents evacuated their homes before fire crews arrived, and were gathered into a Calgary Transit bus for shelter.

On-scene members of Alberta Health Services assessed residents while police provided crowd control. However, the fire department said that two cats are missing at this time.

Crews will remain on scene throughout Saturday morning to ensure the fire does not spread any further, and to confirm when it has been completely extinguished.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to the release, but the department is reminding Calgarians to ensure they have working smoke alarms installed in their homes.
