June 20, 2011 – North of Odessa Nebraska Via Hwy 10B
I could have followed the this particular cell due north on Hwy 183. I should have, as it produced another stronger tornado EF1 or EF2 just to the north of Amherst Nebraska. But I deiced to get to the east, due to the storms slow movement I was hoping to catch up to the storm cell again before it had crossed Hwy 40, but from a safe distance. I was wrong about the storms movement, it had changed direction and moved almost directly due north, northeast.
I proceeded north on Hwy 10B or Odessa Road north. Only a few miles from the Elm Creek I-80 Interchange. There was plenty of rotation in these clouds but I had to be cautious, not wanting to get in its path again.
I proceeded north….
